My work consists of functional pottery, and my intention is to create aesthetically satisfying and well-designed utilitarian wares. The intimacy of functional pottery comes from its interactive nature. I love creating artwork that people can interact with and enjoy.
Camilla Ascher received her BFA in Art Education in 2012, and a Certificate in Ceramics in 2013 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. After earning her degree she completed a one-year internship at Baltimore Clayworks. She has completed artist residencies in Taiwan and Massachusetts. Additionally she has attended and assisted workshops at Penland School of Craft, Watershed, and Peters Valley School of Craft. Camilla is currently the Artist in Residence and ceramic studio manager at the Chesapeake Art Center in Maryland.
*Teapots that are sold must remain on display in the gallery as part of the exhibit until the show closes on September 10, 2023. After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 26 or available for pick-up at the gallery.
