About Linda
Linda Dalton creates unique, high-end functional, decorative pottery, both wheel-thrown and hand-built. She has been fascinated with pottery since a visit to Seagrove years ago. Starting with a wheel in the corner of her garage workshop, the studio soon expanded to take over the entire garage. In 2004, she found the perfect piece of property where she could build in Moore County. With priorities in place, she built the studio first and lived in a rental while building a new home.
Linda uses a wide variety of techniques to produce her unique pieces. High-fire pieces are thrown on the wheel or hand-built and gas-fired. Horsehair produces the distinctive lines of Horsehair Pottery, fired in a raku kiln. Custom pieces can be created with the hair of a specific horse.
Using native ferns from their woods, as well as distinctive leaf shapes, pine needles, and even spider webs, she produces Saggar Fired pieces. She recycles all of her scrap clays and custom mixes all her glazes.

*Teapots that are sold must remain on display in the gallery as part of the exhibit until the show closes on September 10, 2020.  After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 26 or available for pick-up at the gallery.
