About Maruca
Maruca Design was founded in 1994 by Rex Maruca who was selling fabric for the upholstery industry. A few years later, he decided to take the company to the next level by making women’s handbags with beautiful jacquard fabrics and the company took off! Over time Maruca developed a very large and loyal customer following and became known for its high-quality, artsy, and unique bags. In 2020, Rex sold the company and retired. Maruca is now women owned, woman run, and remains a small design studio where every bag is still hand cut and sewn and never mass produced.
