About the Teapot
This piece is completely fabricated using sheet and flat stock and employs fusing, silver, soft soldering, hammered and stamped surface texturing, and hydraulic press work. The patina is a traditional liver of Sulphur solution for the copper and brass elements and nitric acid and water for the pewter. It has a wax finish.

Artist Statement
I enjoy the fabrication processes required to create volumetric forms out of metal. I must consider the form, size, shape, texture, and type of each separate piece of metal that will give nuance to the completed artwork. Ultimately, I’m looking for the pieces I create to have an attitude. Hopefully, an attitude that the viewer can sense and enjoy.

About Jon Michael
Jon Michael traveled the US doing art/craft fairs for over 30 years and has been a metalsmith working commercially, academically, and independently for over 40 years. He currently owns One 10 Gallery in the small town of Frederic, WI, and enjoys NOT loading and unloading the van.

*Teapots that are sold must remain on display in the gallery as part of the exhibit until the show closes on September 10, 2020. After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 26 or available for pick-up at the gallery.
