Birds - Framed Tile Set

Mid-century modern meets Nawal Motawi's mastery in these tiles based on the work of celebrated wildlife artist Charley Harper (1922-2007), a self-described "minimal realist."

The framed tile set includes:

  • One 4" x " Blue Jay tile
  • One 4" x 8" "Who's Watching Whom" tile
  • One 4" x 8" "Headbanger" tile

The three tiles are presented as a set in a triple-tile frame crafted from quarter-sawn oak with a beautiful ebony finish. The frame is constructed with mitered corners and stapled joints. Its outer dimensions are 11.5" x 16.25", and its width is 2".

About Nawal Motawi

Nawal Motawi Tileworks is a ceramics studio based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Owner and artistic director Nawal Motawi made tile in her garage before founding the company in 1992. Over time, Nawal built the business through extensive reading and lots of trial and error!
Her tiles are striking art pieces and installation accents. Each one is made by hand and with heart. Nawal Motawi and the artists who create Motawi tiles embrace variation and handmade beauty: their time-honored methods produce a nuanced range of colors with depth and translucence.
