This necklace features hand-blown, furnace‑pulled glass beads created by Cedar Creek Gallery studio artist Lisa Oakley. Each bead is shaped from molten glass and finished with the subtle variations that make handmade work so special. The finished strand measures 20" long—colorful, comfortable, and full of movement.
Creating these beads is a long, exacting process. Lisa begins by gathering molten glass on the end of a blowpipe, layering in color until she achieves the depth she wants. A breath of air forms the bead’s center opening, and then a second pipe is attached so she and her assistant can stretch the glass into a cane—often 40 to 50 feet in length. From that cane, each bead is cut, shaped, and finished by hand.
The result is a necklace with rich color, beautiful light play, and the unmistakable character of true studio glass.
