About the Teapot
In this piece I play with an idiom for gossiping (sometimes done over a cup of tea?) with the feline tendency to tip objects over. My young tabby is captured mid-spill knocking over a small jade colored teapot.
About the Artist
I cannot remember a time that I was not busy creating some sort of art. My professional artwork followed several years at the helm of a biology classroom. Though I began sculpting in copper, over the years my work has evolved into a whimsical mixed-media style, and now concentrates on figures.
These “Art Doll" figure sculptures bring together so many of the elements and techniques I have developed in my work. My current pieces feature anthropomorphic animal figures, and are rendered in needle felted wool. I challenge myself to imbue these creatures with their human-like qualities in as minimal a way as possible, as opposed to merely being animals dressed in clothing.
*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026.
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.
