About the Teapot
This was such a fun project!  I had intended to do a couple of bird teapots, as birds are what I often do, but somehow I veered into the deep blue seas.  For the felters out there:  I needle-felted the form with a ball of acrylic yarn inside.  Since acrylic doesn’t felt, I could remove it and end up with a teapot cavity.

About the Artist
Bonny discovered felting by accident. In 2014, she was looking for a fun outing to do with her sisters-in-law, and they ended up at the New England Fiber Festival. Bonny was entranced by the needle-felting on display and began experimenting with the technique.
A few months later, she took a workshop with the wonderful artist Andrea Graham, learning an innovative method of creating three-dimensional pieces using both needle and wet-felting techniques. Bonny decided to create a bird-like creature in that workshop and has continued making birds and other fanciful creatures in the years since.
Bonny and her partner spent 40 years as touring puppeteers, creating and performing shows in theaters, museums, schools, and libraries throughout the United States and Canada. She became skilled in many fiber techniques while making puppets and scenery, and since retiring from performing has focused entirely on art and craft. Making work that doesn’t go on to perform is a new experience for her, and she’s enjoying the opportunity to explore different outlets for her creativity.

*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026. 
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.
