About the Artist
It was 1968. I was 17 and clueless when I arrived in Boone from Fairfax, Virginia, to attend ASU. Exposed to art while taking a drawing class, I immediately got involved with as many art classes as I was allowed to take. I graduated in 1972 with a degree in Art Education. I have been part of the Boone art community since then.
My commitment to clay began while in graduate school at ASU in 1976. Since then, I have continued, for the next 40-plus years, to work in a variety of styles, clays, and surface decoration using hand-building and sculpting techniques.
Most of those years were spent traveling to weekend craft shows and selling my work through galleries. I no longer participate in craft shows and now sell my work almost exclusively at Hands Co-operative Gallery in downtown Boone. I also participate in Cedar Creek Gallery’s National Teapot Show every three years and try to supply Cedar Creek with a big order of my work once a year.
I am a painter, mother of three, and wife to Blake, and I have been a substitute teacher for the past twenty years in the Watauga County Schools. I am a lover of plants and gardens and spend as much time as possible in my own.
I am always covered in dirt and clay.

*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026.
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.

About National Teapot Show XIII

Cedar Creek Gallery's National Teapot Show XIII is an invitational event featuring teapots crafted by artists from across North America.  More than 200 hand-crafted teapots created using a broad range of materials - including pottery, glass, wood, fiber, and mixed media.

Teapots in the show come in all shapes and sizes! Some are functional - just right for your daily cup of tea, while others are created as sculptural teapots.

Every teapot in the show is available for purchase.

All teapots will remain on display (including those already sold), both online and in the gallery, through September 14, 2026.
