Artist Statement
Driven by architectural silhouettes and sacred geometry, my wheel-thrown ceramic vessels draw inspiration from Baroque cathedrals, Islamic mosques, and the ceremonial wares of the Ayyubid and Mamluk periods. I explore the sense of importance and transcendence conveyed by these historical objects through strong profiles, spires, and finials. My surfaces translate metalwork techniques like inlay into the language of clay, utilizing crystalline glazes, precious metal lusters, and wood-fired reduction slips. Ultimately, the ascendant gesture of my work is intended to elevate, symbolizing a strength of purpose and the potential for transcendence toward something higher and greater.

*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026.
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.
