This is a lithophane, a thin translucent porcelain night light, made using a lost art from the 1800's. The porcelain panel is gently curved, which allows it to wrap around the bulb so that the bulb is not as visible from the side.
When lit from behind, the light shining through the carving causes a highly detailed image to appear in front, almost magically. The illuminated image is so detailed that it has a totally photographic quality.
Mounted on a durable night light socket with an on-off rocker switch, this night light safely and effectively lights up bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, or hallways at night. The soothing warm light it emits creates a peaceful and ethereal ambiance that is truly magical!
