Trout Cowboy

$187.00

During a recent journey to the Southwest, the artist recognized the absence of Western-inspired pieces in his collection of sculptures. To address this, he crafted the Trout Cowboy, which fills the gap while staying true to his Michigan origins.
This unique sculpture weighs about 3 pounds and measures 10.5" long, 2" wide, and 6" tall.

The cowboy is removable, and the wheels turn.

While the lost-wax method of creating bronze sculptures is widely known, Scott Nelles utilizes the sand-casting method, a lesser-known process often overlooked in the arts. Through this method, he gives life to his artistic vision, making his work more accessible to the public and sparking curiosity in those who appreciate his creations.

About Scott Nelles

Scott Nelles creates cast bronze sculptures. Cast metal toy cars, boats, and airplanes take him back to his childhood in Detroit, where his father, a manufacturer's representative, would take Scott on factory tours. The dramatic sight and heat of molten metal became a part of his soul, and the excitement of the foundry process never left him.
Although the lost-wax method of creating bronze sculptures is widely known, Scott has adopted a unique approach to his craft. He utilizes the lesser-known sand-casting method, which gives life to his artistic vision and sparks curiosity in those who appreciate his creations.
