About the Artist
Christy Knox is a ceramic artist, educator, and naturalist from the United States. Her work focuses on soft‑slab construction paired with embossed surface decoration made from local flora. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art education from the University of Illinois and an MFA in ceramics from Ohio University. Her work has been represented by galleries throughout the United States and is included in private collections around the world.
Christy has been a full‑time studio potter for 45 years, has taught workshops nationwide, and has been featured in two books on ceramics.

Artist Statement
I have been a potter and a naturalist for the past 45 years. My love of nature has inspired pottery surfaces that reflect my garden and the surrounding landscape. Developing an embossing process that creates three‑dimensional relief, along with hand-building forms from slabs of clay, has allowed me to explore the depth of my ideas.
Moments in nature are fleeting and ever‑changing. It is my hope that my pots capture some of that beauty.

*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026.
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.
