About the Teapot
This teapot was made with cone 6 porcelain using the potter’s wheel. The form and glazing are inspired by organic shapes and subtle colors found in nature.

About the Artist
Karen Swyler was born and raised on the North Shore of Long Island. Her mother was a ceramic artist, and her father was a scientist; each made an impression on her work and style. She received her BFA in Ceramics from Alfred University and her MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 2003 she received the Archie Bray Foundation's Lilian Fellowship. Karen was a professor of art at Green Mountain College from 2005-2019. In 2018, she completed a sabbatical residency at the Guldagergaard International Ceramics Research Center in Denmark.
Currently, she teaches art to preschool – grade 12 students for the Mill River Unified Union School District and is an adjunct professor of art at Castleton University.

*Teapots that are purchased will remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition, through September 14, 2026.
After the show closes, teapots will be carefully packed and shipped by September 28, or they may be picked up at the gallery.
