For over fifty years, Cedar Creek Gallery has been a place where artists and art lovers come together, not just in person, but in spirit. What began as a small pottery studio has grown into a thriving community of potters, glassblowers, and talented artisans from across the United States — all dedicated to creating beautiful, meaningful work by hand.
Handcrafted art has a special way of bringing warmth, character, and joy into everyday life. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to support hardworking artists by providing a place where their creativity can shine — and to help you find pieces that feel like they were made just for you.
The selection of craft on our website is just a small sampling of what fills our gallery. With so many treasures here, it’s impossible to show them all online. Onsite Artists

Pat Oakley

Pat Oakley, the founder
of the gallery, still lives at Cedar Creek. She currently makes very few pots.
Pat is an inspiration and a huge part of the life of the gallery.

Lisa Oakley

Daughter of Sid and Pat
Oakley, Lisa began blowing glass in 1994.  She went on to build the first hot glass art studio in eastern North Carolina. Lisa currently leads Cedar Creek and also works in her glassblowing studio.

Brad Tucker

Brad first came to Cedar Creek as an apprentice to Sid and Pat Oakley. He liked the Cedar Creek community so much that when his apprenticeship was over, he decided to stick around, Brad established his studio on the grounds in 1981.

John Martin

Sid Oakley, co-founder of the gallery, had mastered the technique of crystalline glazing when John came to work in 1988. Together, Sid and John created many special effects glazes, aided by John's chemical engineering degree. Today, John maintains the beautiful gardens surrounding the gallery and occasionally produces pots, keeping the tradition of crystalline glazing alive at Cedar Creek.

Jennifer Stas

North Carolina native Jennifer Stas finds all the inspiration she needs in the endless imagery and the mountains and coast of her home state. Jennifer came to Cedar Creek in 2008.

Pringle Teetor

Pringle retired from the
business world to pursue glass as a hobby, and her hobby became her new career. She has been blowing glass in her Cedar Creek studio since 2006. 

Dana Smith

Dana began studying glassblowing in 1999, and became one of Cedar Creek's onsite artists in 2006 in the glassblowing studio he shares with Pringle Teetor.

Lizzie Morantz

Lizzie began her exploration of glass in 2014. She continued her studies at Penland School of Craft, where she spent time developing and refining her techniques and developing new skills. Lizzie works as an onsite artist and is also Lisa Oakley’s glass assistant.

Mike Pope

In 2014, Mike began working as a glass blowing assistant for Harrison Harper in Lisa Oakley’s glass studio. During the three years Mike worked with Harrison, he refined his skills and began creating his own glass pieces. Currently, Mike works as a glass assistant for Lisa Oakley and continues to create work as an onsite artist.

Harrison Harper

Harrison’s journey in glass art began in 2002, when he first explored the delicate craft of lampworking. Just two years later, he found himself captivated by the dynamic world of soft furnace glass. The intense heat, the precision it demands, the close connection to the material, and the endless variety of textures all drew him in—igniting a passion that continues to shape his work today.

Mark Peters

Mark is a potter, teacher, and kiln designer. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 1997. His work has been featured in many books and magazines, as well as displayed in ceramic exhibitions around the country. Mark serves on the Board of Directors for the Energy Xchange, an innovative business incubator program that supports entrepreneurs in the crafts of glass blowing and pottery.

Dalton Hughes

Dalton's journey as a potter has just begun, a journey he believes is defined by mentorship and curiosity. As he continues his journey, he hopes to demonstrate to others how a momentary need for a creative escape can blossom into a practice that is transformative and enduring.
